Undefeted Lightning open three-game road trip in the Canadian capital against the Senators
After alternating wins and losses to open the 2024-25 National Hockey League season, the Ottawa Senators turn their attention to the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday afternoon looking for their third straight win against Tampa Bay dating back to last season. The Lightning are undefeated to open the new campaign allowing just five goals through their first three games as they begin a northeastern road trip that will have Tampa Bay play three games in four days. Ottawa has split their current three-game home stand winning a wild 8-7 overtime affair with Los Angeles on Monday then dropping a 3-1 loss to New Jersey on Thursday night.

Kucherov has scored 30 or more goals in seven of his last eight seasons and comes into this year after becoming just the fifth player in NHL history to tally a 100-assist season.
Tampa Bay has conceded the opening goal in two of their first three games but have outscored their opponents 7-1 in the the third period to keep their undefeated record intact.
Senators center Tim Stutzle leads the club with six points on the season but was held without a point in Thursday’s loss to New Jersey. The number three overall pick by the Senators in the 2020 NHL Draft, Stutzle tallied a career high 52 assists last season.
Ottawa has won two games in a row over Tampa Bay and five of the last six dating back to March of 2023 and five of the last six at home.
