Things appear to be on the up for the Lightning once again after a difficult end to November, which involved the team going 2-3-1 in a run that largely took place at home in Florida.
That being said, the Lightning have now won two in a row on the road and most recently came away with maximum spoils in Vancouver.
Nikita Kucherov made a welcome return from injury in Sunday’s 4-2 win over the Canucks, contributing one goal and two assists as he took no time at all to hit the ground running.
Brayden Point was the Bolts’ other star man with two goals and two assists to his name on the night, moving him up to 18 strikes so far this season and third in the NHL goal standings.
Extending that winning start in Canada could push Jon Cooper’s men into the upper crust of the Atlantic Division, while the Oilers are targeting the same in the Pacific.
Kris Knoblauch’s side sit level on points with Vancouver for the time being, but victory could pull the team within a single point of the Los Angeles Kings in second.
