On Wednesday night the Colorado Avalanche host the Tampa Bay Lightning to wrap up a three-game homestand.
Wednesday night’s NHL slate includes a rematch of the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals between the Tampa Bay Lightning (6-3-0) and the Colorado Avalanche (5-5-0) at Ball Arena in Denver. Both teams come in playing well. Colorado was recently on a five-game winning streak after losing four in a row to start the season. That included sweeping a three-game road trip. The team then returned home on Sunday to begin a three-game homestand. They won the first game 5-4 against the Ottawa Senators, but then on the second night of a back-to-back had that winning streak snapped by the Chicago Blackhawks in a 5-2 game.

After dropping the first game 4-2 to the Minnesota Wild, the Lightning won back-to-back games, shutting out the Washington Capitals 3-0 on Saturday before beating the Nashville Predators 3-2 in overtime on Monday. Nick Paul scored the game winner for Tampa, three and a half minutes into the overtime period.
Andrei Vasilevskiy has got the bulk of the work in net for the Lightning, starting eight of their nine games. He’s 5-3 in those starts, posting a 2.64 goals against average and 90.5 a save percentage so far this year.
