The Colorado Avalanche go for their fifth straight win on Sunday evening when they host the Ottawa Senators.
The Colorado Avalanche begin a three-game homestand on Sunday when they welcome the Ottawa Senators to town. The Avalanche are back home after a successful three-game road trip in which they went undefeated against the San Jose Sharks, Seattle Kraken and Utah Hockey Club. They gave up just four total goals in the three wins and have now won four in a row. The four straight wins come after they dropped their first four games of the season and they now sit at 4-4-0. Thursday they dominated the Utah Hockey Club, as they scored the first four goals of the game and cruised to a 5-1 win. Ross Colton opened the scoring in the first period with his seventh goal of the season and then Cale Makar made it 2-0 late in the first period. Casey Mittelstadt would add his fifth goal of the year to make it 3-0 and Ivan Ivan got his first of the year to give them a four-goal lead. Joel Kiviranta wrapped up the scoring with his fourth of the year in the third period.

The Senators will look to snap the Avalanche winning streak as they try and get back in the win column after a tough 6-4 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday night.
The Senators had won two in a row, but couldn’t stop the Golden Knights and it dropped them to 4-3-0 on the season.
Sunday is the final game of a three-game road trip for the Senators. They won at Utah on Tuesday before their loss to Vegas. They will return home for a game against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday before they travel to the New York Rangers for a Friday clash.
