With six wins in their last eight games, the Colorado Avalanche aim for a three-game season sweep over the visiting Seattle Kraken when they face off inside Ball Arena in Denver on Sunday night. Seattle is in the middle of a four-game road trip that saw the Kraken play in Las Vegas on Saturday and will hit the ice for their third game in three days looking to find an offensive groove that has been absent in December. The Kraken came into the weekend having scored two or less goals five times in their last seven games and rank 23rd in the National Hockey League scoring 2.82 goals per game.

Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon leads the league in assists and points and comes into this game with four multi-point efforts in his last six games. MacKinnon, who took home league MVP honors last season, is on pace for his third consecutive 100-point season and has victimized the Kraken posting a goal and five assists in Colorado’s first two games against Seattle this season.
In his fourth season with Seattle, Kraken winger Jared McCann leads the team in goals and assists this season and is the franchise’s all-time leading goal scorer. McCann was selected by Seattle in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft after two and a half seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Colorado has dominated this series winning four of the last five games including three in a row overall but Seattle has won three of the last four meetings in Denver.
