With four losses in their last six games, the Seattle Kraken open a four-game road trip on Thursday night inside the United Center as they take on the Chicago Blackhawks in the second of three meetings between the teams this season. The Blackhawks come into this game having won consecutive games for the first time since early November as they took for their first three-game winning streak of the season but historically have not fared well against the Kraken winning just three of the first 10 matchups since Seattle joined the National Hockey League as an expansion team in 2021.

Kraken winger Jared McCann leads the team with 26 points this season and has tallied three points in his last four games. McCann, in his fourth season with Seattle, has recorded 50-plus points in each of his last three seasons and sits 10 assists away from 200 for his 10-year career. A first-round selection by Vancouver in the 2014 NHL Draft, McCann spent time with the Panthers and Penguins before being taken by Seattle in the expansion draft in 2021.
Last year’s NHL Rookie of the Year Connor Bedard leads Chicago with 26 points this season and has posted nine points in nine December games. The 19-year-old was the top pick in last year’s draft and is 13 points shy of 100 for his career.
Each of the last three meetings between these teams in Chicago have been high scoring affairs with no less than seven combined goals being scored including a 13-goal outburst in January of 2023.
