Two Pacific Division foes wrap up preseason play on Saturday night when the San Jose Sharks visit the Vegas Golden Knights.
Saturday offers one last tune-up opportunity for the San Jose Sharks (1-3-1) and Vegas Golden Knights (3-2-0), as they square off in a final preseason game at T-Mobile Arena. This will be the second time these two divisional foes meet in the preseason, having also done so in the opener in late September. Vegas won that game 4-2, with goals from Callahan Burke, Brett Howden, Tanner Pearson, and Toumas Uronen. First-overall pick Macklin Celebrini scored for the Sharks, as did veteran Tyler Toffoli.

This game is the second half of a back-to-back for the Sharks, who played the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night at home. That game went to a shootout, with the Ducks winning 3-2. Klim Kostin and Henry Thrun scored for the Sharks, while goalie Vitek Vanecek stopped 40 of the 42 shots he saw in the game.
For the Golden Knights, there was a day off after a game against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday. Colorado won that game 3-1, with Jack Eichel scoring the lone goal for Vegas.
This game should be a good test for both the Sharks and Golden Knights. Not just because it’s an extra chance to prepare for the season, but because they’ll face each other quite a few times this season as divisional opponents. Their first matchup isn’t that far into the schedule, in Vegas on Oct. 26.
