All three of the Sabres recent wins have come by multi-goal margins. That started with the Monday before Christmas, when they went to Elmont and beat the New York Islanders 7-1. They then returned home after the break and beat the Chicago Blackhawks 6-2 on Friday, before going back on the road on Sunday to face the St. Louis Blues in a game they won 4-2.
The Stars also last played on Saturday. They were on the road visiting the Blackhawks, and knocked off Chicago 5-1 behind three point games from center Matt Duchene and left winger Jamie Benn, who both had a goal and two assists each.
Tuesday’s game will be the second of the year between the Sabres and Stars. They met in Buffalo back in late October in a game the Sabres won 4-2. Buffalo defenseman Owen Power assisted on three of those four goals, and goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 28 saves.
