The consecutive losses snapped a three-game winning streak and dropped the Sabres to 11-10-2 on the season. They had been playing their best hockey of the season as they had won seven of their last nine games. The losing streak has dropped the Sabres into fifth place int eh Atlantic Division, a point back of the Boston Bruins. They are also just wo points back of the Tampa Bay Lightning and can move up the standings with a win on Saturday night against the Islanders.
