The New York Rangers (12-8-1, 25 points) are reeling a bit as they head to the Wells Fargo Center on Friday for a matchup with their Metropolitan Division rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers (10-10-3, 23 points). The Rangers have dropped four straight games and have been doubled up 18-9 during that span. Philadelphia comes off an overtime win and have won two of three. New York didn’t have left wing Chris Kreider (upper body) or center Filip Chytil (upper body) on Wednesday while the Flyers has defenseman Jamie Drysdale practicing in a non-contact jersey, but goalie Samuel Ersson is still out.

Couturier added an assist in the win. Travis Konecny leads the team with 11 goals and 27 points while goalie Ivan Fedotov is 3-4-1 in eight starts with an .874 save percentage and 3.69 goals-against average.
The Rangers gave up two goals in a span of 2:07 midway through the third period in a 4-3 road loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday. Jonny Brodzinski, Brett Berard and Adam Edstrom had the goals for New York. Artemi Panarin leads the club with 12 goals and 26 points. In net, Igor Shesterkin is 8-7-1 in 16 starts with a .911 save percentage and 2.98 GAA.
The longtime rivals play for the first time this season on Friday and will match up twice more at Madison Square Garden on Jan. 23 and April 9.
