The Winnipeg Jets look to even this series against the Nashville Predators on Monday and win four in a row.
Despite the Winnipeg Jets having a 24-point lead over the Nashville Predators in the Central division standings, the Predators hold a 1-0 advantage in this season series. Winnipeg looks to change that and tie this series on Monday when they host Nashville. The Jets have had one of the best records all season after a very hot start, but lost big to the Predators 4-1 at the end of November with Roman Josi scoring twice. The Jets are going for their fourth win a row though now and they’ve won five of their last six games. Winnipeg is most recently coming off a 4-2 over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
The win came despite Ottawa outshooting the Jets 35-23 and that was in big part to goalie Connor Hellebuyck making 33 saves. Things were looking shaky to start the game for Winnipeg when Ottawa scored the first two goals of the game, both on seperate power plays. But then Winnipeg finally woke up scoring two goals to end the second period. The Jets would go to score four straight goals in total. The first star of the game was Nikolaj Ehlers who scored a goal and added two assists. The Jets will once again be heavy favorites here at home as they try to maintain the highest point total in the league.

Nashville had added at least a point in its last four games before losing in its most recent matchup against the St. Louis Blue who won 7-4 on Friday. The game did not lack any offense with the Blues getting up 4-2 in just the first period. But the game was very back-and-forth and Jonathan Marchessault scored on the power play halfway through the third period to get Nashville within just one goal. But St. Louis scored on another power play goal soon after to ice the game. The Predators goalie Juuse Saros was pulled in the second period after allowing five goals on just 15 shots which was just too much to overcome. The Predators will have to be much sharper against an even tougher opponent tonight.
