Look for this game to be a tone-setter for both teams, with less than 24 hours separating this game from the meeting in Pittsburgh on Sunday. Both teams come in well-rested, having not played since Monday.

Saturday’s game is the second meeting of the year between the Penguins and Islanders. They first played back in early November on Long Island. After the Penguins got out to a 3-1 lead the Islanders scored twice in the third period to force overtime, and ended up winning in a shootout.
The Penguins come into this one having won three of their last four games, with points in five of their last six. However this team has had its conditioning tested, playing three overtime games last week.
As for the Islanders, they lost 7-1 to the Buffalo Sabres on Monday in their last game. Before that, they went into Toronto and picked up a 6-3 win against the Maple Leafs. Center Bo Horvat had three points for New York in that one with a goal and two assists.
