The Canadiens go for their second straight win on Monday night when they host the Penguins
The Montreal Canadiens welcome the Pittsburgh Penguins to town on Monday night. The Canadiens are coming off a dominant 4-1 win over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. The win pushed their record to 2-1 on the early season. They have now won both of their games at home, but lost on the road against the Boston Bruins. In their two wins they have given up just one total goal, but in the loss to the Bruins they gave up six goals. On Saturday they got two goals from Cole Caufield and single goals by Emil Heineman and Alex Newhook. Caulfield leads the Canadiens with four goals on the season and four points. Lane Hutson, Juraj Slafkovsky and Kaiden Guhle are all tied with the team-lead in assists with three.

The Penguins are playing the last of a three-game road trip on Monday and are looking to head home with a winning record on the trip.
The Penguins won their first game of the trip against the Detroit Red Wings, but lost on Saturday to the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2.
The Penguins now sit at 1-2 on the season and are looking to get back to .500 before they head home for games against the Buffalo Sabres and Carolina Hurricanes. They will then hit the road for another road trip, this time four games.
The Penguins have been led Evgeni Malkin with a team-best four assists and Anthony Beauvillier who is leading the team with two goals.
