Riding a four-game winning streak, the Seattle Kraken aim to remain undefeated on its current six-game home stand on Sunday night when the New York Rangers skate into Climate Pledge Arena for the first of two meetings between the teams this season. The Rangers have won 10 of their first 15 games and are 5-1 on away ice this season as they begin a four-game western road trip. New York ranks in the top 10 on the power play and penalty kill and are top-five in both goals scored and goals allowed per game yet come into this game in fourth place in a jam-packed Metropolitan Division.

Kraken winger Jared McCann has paced the Seattle winning streak posting five points during the last four wins contributing to his team-his 21 points. McCann, a first-round pick by Vancouver in the 2014 NHL Draft, had a journeyman career playing with the Canucks, Panthers, and Penguins before being taken by Seattle in the expansion draft in 2021 where he has flourished posting career-highs in goals, assists, and points over the last two seasons.
On a six-game points streak, Rangers winger Artemi Panarin has a team-high 23 points, 13th best in the NHL. The 10-year veteran posted career-highs in goals and assists last season and is on pace to surpass his 120-point total from last season.
New York has won five of the first six meetings over Seattle in this series since the Kraken made their debut in 2021 winning three in a row, all by more than one goal, and two of the three games in Seattle.
