The Islanders last played on Sunday, also against the Devils. They won that game 4-2. Marcus Högberg and Jakub Skarek split that game in net, allowing two goals on 25 shots faced. This comes as starting goaltender Ilya Sorokin is dealing with an upper body injury he suffered while training over the summer. The team has not said much about the injury since the start of training camp, but did reveal it is an upper-body injury he suffered while training this summer. Sorokin won 25 games for the Islanders last year, and is two years removed from finishing as the Vezina runner-up.
