Riding a season-longest five-game winning streak, the defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers return to home ice on Thursday night to open a five-game home stand as the slumping Nashville Predators skate into Amalie Arena. The Predators lost for the fourth time in five games on Wednesday night at Washington and now on the second game of a back-to-back Nashville looks for its fourth win in five games in the series against Florida. The Panthers are at home for the first time since October 22 after a three-game road trip and a pair of wins over Dallas in the Global Series games played in Finland last weekend.

The Panthers center, Sam Reinhart, is tied for the league lead with 10 goals in the season and ranks fourth in the NHL in points, scoring 21 points in his first 13 games. Coming off a career-high 94 points during the Panthers’ title run last season, Reinhart is now six assists away from 300 for his career. Reinhart was the second overall selection in the 2014 NHL Draft spending his first seven seasons with the Buffalo Sabres before being traded to Florida in 2021.
Nashville’s Ryan O’Reilly is tied for the team lead with 10 points after an assist in Wednesday night’s 3-2 loss at Washington, his fourth game with a point in the last six outings. O’Reilly, in his second season with the Predators, is four assists shy of 500 for his career.
Despite ranking 26th in the NHL in scoring defense, the Predators penalty kill is the best in the league stopping 93.2% of chances against the man advantage. Nashville has allowed just two power play goals in their last 12 games and have successfully fended off 12 consecutive chances.
Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is 6-2-1 with a 3.08 goals-against average this season and has won three consecutive starts including his 400th career win in net in a 3-1 win over the Rangers two weeks ago.
