The Nashville Predators look to snap a franchise worst losing streak on Thursday as they begin a road trip against the Dallas Stars.
On an eight-game losing streak, the longest in the 27-year history of the franchise, the Nashville Predators have lost 17 of their last 21 games as they open a quick two-game road trip against a pair of Western Conference contenders, including the Dallas Stars on Thursday night. In the first of four meetings between the division foes, Dallas beat the Predators in Nashville, 4-3, for its seventh win in the last nine meetings. Dallas began its season-long six-game homestead with a 6-2 over Calgary on Sunday, its fourth win in the last six games.

Goaltender Jake Oettinger ranks in the top 10 in the league in wins and goals against average and has held 10 of his last 11 opponents to three goals or less. Oettinger, a first round pick by Dallas in the 2017 NHL Draft, has won 30 or more games in each of the last three seasons and has posted 11 shutouts in his career.
Predators defenseman Roman Josi leads the team with 23 points this season despite being held without a point in each of the last three games. Josi left Tuesday’s home loss to Calgary with a lower body injury and his status for Thursday is unknown as the Predators look to end its losing streak without its captain.
Nashville has won five of the last eight meetings against the Stars in Dallas, including each of the last two contests.Â
