On Tuesday night, the Seattle Kraken (11-13-1) and Carolina Hurricanes (16-7-1) meet at the Lenovo Center in Raleigh for an interconference NHL matchup. This is a big ‘bounce back’ spot for both teams. Each side played a back-to-back home-and-home over the weekend, and lost both. Prior to the losses to Florida, the Hurricanes had won two games in a row and had points in six of seven games. Those two recent wins came against the Dallas Stars and New York Rangers. Meanwhile the Kraken are trying to kick a three-game losing streak, with their last win coming last Monday in a 3-2 game at the Anaheim Ducks.
Tuesday night is the second matchup between the Hurricanes and Kraken this year. The Hurricanes won the first game in late October, traveling to Seattle and coming away with a 4-1 win. The Hurricanes peppered Kraken goalie Joey Daccord in that one, getting 39 total shots on net. Meanwhile, Seattle had just 19 shots of its own in that game. One area the Kraken dominated was at the faceoff dot, where they won 54.1% of the time.
