The Carolina Hurricanes go for their ninth win in a row as they travel to take on the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.
The Colorado Avalanche are slow out of the gate to start this season and they’ll hope to get a jumpstart when they host the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night. The Avs have lost four of their last five games and are coming off a 1-0 loss against the Winnipeg Jets. This came after Colorado got back in the win column with a 6-3 win against Seattle that ended a three-game losing streak. Colorado outshot the Jets 35-28 but it was Connor Hellebuyck that got the last laugh earning the first star by earning his third shutout of the season. Gabriel Vilardi scored at just 1:06 in the first period and that is all Winnipeg needed to win even though Colorado goalie Alexander Georgiev turned it around the rest of the game. The Avs are the home team in this matchup but will be the -125 underdogs against Carolina.

That is because Carolina is one of the best teams in the league. The Hurricanes have won eight games in a row and have only lost twice on the season. Carolina is coming off another dominating victory beating the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-1 at home. Jack Roslovic kept the party rolling scoring two goals and added an assist in the win. He scored back-to-back goals for Carolina with the Hurricanes scoring the first five goals in the game before Pittsburgh got on the board. There can’t be any rest though for the Hurricanes as the New Jersey Devils are tied at the top of the Metropolitan division with 20 points.
