The Senators are currently in sixth place in the Atlantic Division with 17 points collected from a record of 8-9-1. The team brings a three-game losing streak into Thursday night’s contest with the most recent being a 5-2 loss to the Oilers on Tuesday night. The Senators may have had too much rest coming into Tuesday’s game after two days off and the Oilers punished them for it.
Ottawa fell behind early as Edmonton scored three first period goals to take the lead and settle in. Edmonton’s Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Evan Bouchard combined to score four goals first 25 minutes as the Oilers built a 4-1 lead. Tim Stutzle scored the first goal for the Senators in the first period, but the second goal didn’t go in until late in the third from Josh Norris’ stick when the game was already 5-1.
Tim Stutzle is leading the Senators with points this season as he currently has 22 and also leads the team in assists with 14. Brady Tkachuk leads the team with nine goals and will hope to make it ten on Thursday night. Jack Eichel leads the Golden Knights with 28 points on the season and has 23 assists while Pavel Dorofeyev leads the team with nine goals.
Tune in Thursday night to see which of these two teams can break their losing streak and add some points to their tally.
