The Vegas Golden Knights look to stay hot and go for their sixth win in a row when they host the Calgary Flames on Sunday.

The Vegas Golden Knights look to take a 2-0 season series lead against their division foes when they host the Calgary Flames on Sunday night. The first game wasn’t even close when these two last played at the end of October, with Vegas grabbing the 5-0 win. The Golden Knights will be similarly favored, with Vegas holding an 11-point advantage in the division standings. The Golden Knights are also going for their sixth win in a row and they have won nine of their last 10 games. Vegas is coming off a 6-3 win over the San Jose Sharks on the road in which it dominated in the third period.

Vegas held a lead in the first and second, but the Sharks scored back-to-back to end the second with a 3-2 lead. But Vegas scored four goals in the third to ultimately grab the victory. The Golden Knights started out red-hot in the third, scoring back-to-back shorthanded by Brayden McNabb and Jack Eichel in the first two minutes of the period. Eichel finished the night as the first star with the game-winner and an assist.

The Flames won’t go down easy though tonight, going for their third win in a row and they’ve earned at least a point in their last five games. Calgary is coming off another road game against a Pacific foe in the San Jose Sharks who it beat on Saturday 3-1. Jonathan Huberdeau scored the first goal of the game and the last. Huberdeau iced the game with an empty-net goal with just one second left.

It was Mikael Backlund that got the go-ahead goal on the power play two minutes after San Jose tied the game. Nazem Kadri was the first star of the game though, assisting on all three Calgary goals. The Flames will need to turn up the intensity even more though tonight against a much more formidable opponent.
