The Sharks go for their first win of the season when they host the Ducks on Saturday night
The San Jose Sharks battle the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night in NHL action. The Sharks come into Saturday looking for their first win after they lost to the St. Louis Blues 5-4 in overtime on Thursday. The Sharks looked primed to win their season-opener as they led 4-1 after two periods, but they gave up three goals in the third to give up the lead. The last of which came with just 47 seconds left in the game. Brayden Schenn of the Blues then scored 45 seconds into overtime to send the Sharks home with a loss. Macklin Celebrini and Tyler Toffoli both scored in the first period for the Sharks and then Fabian Zetterlund and Barclay Goodrow netted goals in the third, but they were shutout in the third period and it cost them. The offense looked better than it did most of last year and Saturday they will look to continue to score goals.

The Ducks, though, will look to slow down the Sharks offense as they try and get a win in their first game of the season.
The Ducks are one of the last teams to play their first game of the season and they are hoping they can win the battle of two of the worst teams by record last season.
The two teams met three times in the preseason with the Ducks winning two of the games. All three games were decided by one goal and two of them went to overtime. The Ducks won their first meeting and then they split the overtime games.
