Red hot Avalanche take winning streak on the road as they wrap season series against Utah
Winners of seven of their last nine games, the Colorado Avalanche hit the ice for the first time in five days on Friday night when they head to Salt Lake City to take on the Utah Hockey Club for the third and final meeting of the season between the Western Conference foes. Utah had a four-game winning streak snapped over the weekend losing a shootout to Anaheim and then a narrow 3-2 defeat to Dallas on Monday as they look for the first home win by either team in this series this season. The away team has won each of the first two meetings by a combined 9-2 score.

Reigning National Hockey League MVP Nathan MacKinnon leads the league with 57 points this season and comes into this game having tallied at least a point in 10 of his last 13 games with six multi-point games in that span. MacKinnon, the number one overall pick in the 2013 NHL Draft, has played his entire career with Colorado and is on pace for his third consecutive 100-point season.
Utah winger Clayton Keller leads the team with 36 points and is on a five-game points streak with three multi-point games in that span. In his ninth NHL season, Keller is poised to secure his fifth 60-plus point campaign and fourth in a row.
Colorado ranks eighth in the league scoring 3.33 goals per game paced by its eighth ranked power play unit that is converting on 24.1% of chances on the power play. The Avalanche have scored a power play goal in three straight games including a pair in a 4-2 road win at San Jose last Thursday.
