Both the Washington Capitals and St. Louis Blues hope to bounce back from 4-2 losses when they face off on Saturday.
The Washington Capitals won’t have much time to bounce back from a loss when they play on back-to-back nights. This time around they will travel to take on the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night. Washington outshot Pittsburgh in its 4-2 loss on Friday night but Joel Blomqvist got in the way stopping 32 shots. The Penguins scored the first two goals of the game but Rasmus Sandin got the Caps back in the game with Washington’s first goal of the game not even halfway through the first period. Andrew Mangiapane tied the game soon into the second period but it was all Pittsburgh in the third with Evgeni Malkin scoring effectively the game-winner for the Penguins. Fun fact this was the 95th game between legends Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby. There are three more games left in this series this season but hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long after that to see number 100.

Washington are the slight -120 favorites on the road here tonight against St. Louis. The Blues sit in the middle of the Central and they are coming off a division loss also by a score of 4-2 against the Utah Hockey Club. Now St. Louis sits at .500 with a 7-7-0 record. This game was very back-and-forth but Dylan Guenther broke the 2-2 tie late in the second period and then Utah secured the game with a empty-net goal to ice it. The Blues only took 15 shots and they will have to significantly amp up their offense if their going to defend home ice tonight.
