Both the Vancouver Canucks and Buffalo Sabres try to get back in the win column when they battle on Black Friday.
Both the Vancouver Canucks and Buffalo Sabres are both coming off tough one-goal losses when they face off Friday afternoon. Vancouver nearly won three in a row but the Canucks are coming off a 5-4 loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thanksgiving Eve. The Canucks did a good job to even just make it a contest against the Penguins. Pittsburgh looked like it was in complete control going up 5-1 early in the second period.

Vancouver scored the next three goals with Quinn Hughes earning the second star with a goal and two assists. Elias Pettersson scored to get the Canucks within one goal but it came with less than two minutes left in regulation with the effort being too little, too late. Pittsburgh tied the series in the season finale between the two clubs. Buffalo has only two less points than Vancouver. The Canucks must come out much faster to pull off this road win.
Buffalo had a three-game winning streak end when it lost to the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday 1-0. The Sabres lost despite having 10 more shots on goal than the Wild. The win came in large part due to Minnesota goalie Filip Gustavsson stopping 39 shots to earn the first star of the game.
Kirill Kaprizov scored the lone goal of the game early in the first period. It still should be noted that Buffalo goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen had a great game as well stopping 28 shots for the third star of the game. This should be a lot more high scoring game against the Canucks.
