The Boston Bruins visit the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night looking to win their second straight game. The Bruins snapped a three-game losing streak and shutout the Utah Hockey Club on Thursday night 1-0. It was their first game under interim head coach Joe Sacco after Jim Montgomery was fired after their slow start. Elias Lindholm scored his third goal of the season in the second period for the game’s only goal. Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak were credited with the assists in the game-winning goal. The win got them back to .500 on the season at 9-9-3 and has them in fourth place in the Atlantic Division. They currently sit just a point back of the Tampa Bay Lightning and three points up on the Buffalo Sabres. The Bruins will return home for a game with the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night, but first want to get a big road win.

The Red Wings, though, are looking to send the Bruins home with a loss as they try and win a second straight game. The Red Wings snapped a three-game losing streak on Thursday night when they slipped by the New York Islanders 2-1 at home.
The Red Wings had lost eight of their last 11 prior to the win and are hoping the victory over the Islanders can snap them out of their funk.
They now sit at 8-9-2 on the season and a point back of the Sabres in the Atlantic Division standings. They are also just a point up on the Ottawa Senators and two points up on the last place Montreal Canadiens.
