The Seattle Kraken go for their third win in a row when they host the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday.
The Seattle Kraken look to get back to even in the win column when they host the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday. The Kraken are also going for their third straight win after Seattle had lost four straight and seven of its last eight before this recent winning streak. The Kraken are coming off a dominating 5-2 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets, but it certainly did not start that way. The Blue Jackets scored the first two goals of the game in the first period, but that is the last time Columbus looked dominant. From the second period on, Seattle scored five goals in a row. Tye Kartye got the scoring party started for the Kraken early in the second. Then later in the four-goal period, Brandon Tanev and Eeli Tolvanen scored within 10 seconds of each other to suck up all the momentum Columbus may have had. Seattle strolled to victory after that. Seattle will be the favorite at home tonight.

Chicago is coming off a 2-1 win in overtime on Sunday against one of their biggest rivals in Minnesota to avoid losing three in a row. Jason Dickinson scored the first goal of the game for Chicago late in the first period. Neither team scored again until Minnesota’s Matt Boldy scored 15:29 minutes into the third. Philipp Kurashev made sure the home crowd would go home happy, scoring the winning goal 1:50 into overtime.
Chicago won despite being outshot 33-22 with goalie Petr Mrazek showing up big for the Blackhawks stopping 32 shots. Mrazek will likely have to put up a similar performance to pull off this upset against the Kraken on the road.
