The AFC North title is on the line when the Baltimore Ravens host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday afternoon.
Coming into the 2024 NFL season the AFC North was viewed as one of the most competitive divisions in football. While it turned into a two-team race early on, those two teams have been neck-and-neck for most of the year. On Saturday afternoon that race comes to a head at M&T Bank Stadium, when the Baltimore Ravens (9-5) host the Pittsburgh Steelers (10-4). With a win, the Steelers would clinch a record 25th AFC North title, and their first since 2020. While the Ravens can’t clinch the division outright this week, they’d keep the door open to repeating as division winners (however, Baltimore can clinch a playoff spot with a win or losses by the Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins).

The reason Pittsburgh is able to clinch the division this week is because a win would give the Steelers the head-to-head tiebreaker for the season. Mike Tomlin’s team won the first meeting of the year in Pittsburgh back in mid-November, in an 18-16 final that came down to the closing minute.
Both defenses dominated this game. The Ravens were able to put a drive together late, scoring with just over a minute to go. However, a failed two-point conversion proved to be the difference.
This time, the Ravens come in with momentum. Baltimore returned from its bye week last week and beat the New York Giants, 35-14. Meanwhile the Steelers faced another tough test last week, and lost on the road 27-13 to the Philadelphia Eagles.
