The Detroit Lions open their season on Sunday night when they host the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1 of the NFL season.
The Detroit Lions welcome the Los Angeles Rams to the Motor City on Sunday night in Week 1. The Lions are coming off a season in which they won the NFC North and made a run to the NFC Championship game. The Lions were one half away from making their first-ever Super Bowl, but blew a big halftime lead and came up just short. They are hoping that they can build off that this season and finally break through.
Dan Campbell is still at the helm and has turned the Lions around into one of the best teams in the NFC and NFL. Jared Goff is back under center and has played his best football since being traded to Detroit from the Los Angeles Rams. He will be taking on his former team on Sunday night and looks to lead the Lions to another win.

On the other sideline Matt Stafford will be returning to a place where he was beloved out of college and for over a decade, but is now considered the enemy, at least for this weekend.
The Rams defense looks very different from last season after star defensive end Aaron Donald retired in the offseason. The defense has been the team’s strength, but after losing one of the best players in the NFL it is going to be an adjustment.
