It’s a Florida thing in Sunday’s NFL season opener between the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins
When last we saw the Miami Dolphins, they were getting their huddled masses beaten on the frozen tundra of Arrowhead Stadium by the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Wild Card Playoff last January. The Dolphins are back on Sunday in the friendly confines of Hard Rock Stadium when they welcome in the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags finished 9-8 for the second straight season under coach Doug Pederson, but missed the playoffs with five losses in their final six games.

According to 506 Sports, the Jaguars-Dolphins clash is available in Florida as well as parts of South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Kentucky.
The Jaguars bring back quarterback Trevor Lawrence, running back Travis Etienne Jr. and Pro Bowl tight end Evan Engram but lost 1,000-yard receiver Calvin Ridley to the division rival Tennessee Titans in free agency. Safety Tashaun Gipson Sr. returned to Jacksonville but will miss the first six games while serving a suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing substances policy.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completed a healthy season in 2023, throwing for 4,624 yards and 29 touchdowns, parlaying that into a four-year, $212.4 million extension signed early in training camp. The running back duo of Raheem Mostert (1,012 yards) and De’Von Achane (800 yards in 11 games) is back and Tyreek Hill returns to lead the wide receiver corps after putting up 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns to earn All-Pro honors last year.
The Dolphins are still waiting for receiver Odell Beckham Jr., offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn and linebackers Bradley Chubb and Cameron Goode to be activated from the physically unable-to-perform list. Miami cornerback Jalen Ramsey is questionable due to a hamstring injury. Jacksonville safety Daniel Thomas is questionable with an Achilles’ tendon issue.
