Cooper Rush starts in place of Dak Prescott when the Dallas Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday afternoon.
The Philadelphia Eagles look to keep pace with the Washington Commanders for the top spot in the NFC East as they take on another divisional opponent in the Dallas Cowboys Sunday afternoon. There was a lot of chirping about the dysfunction on the Eagles side of the ball but a lot of that has quieted down after a four-game win streak. A lot of that noise has shifted over to the Cowboys side with Dallas losing its last three games.

To add insult to injury, Dak Prescott will now miss several week sustaining a hamstring injury after the Cowboys 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons last week. Atlanta looks legit now with Cousins at the helm as he threw for three touchdowns and the Falcons are in first place in the NFC South. The Cowboys were down two touchdowns until Jalen Tolbert scored on a four-yard pass from backup QB Cooper Rush in the final two minutes of the game. Rush will start for the Cowboys in place of the injured Prescott today. In 2022, Rush became the first quarterback in franchise history to win his first five starts. Dallas is going to need that same kind of magic to get back in this stacked NFC East race.
The Eagles are in a groove and are favored to beat the Cowboys on the road by seven points. Philadelphia is coming off a 28-23 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars to improve to 6-2 beating their former coach Doug Pederson in the process. You have to watch the replay alone just to watch Saquon Barkley’s incredible backwards leap. It is the best 14-yard gain you will ever see.
If that wasn’t enough, Barkley continues to shine with his new squad rushing for 159 yards and a rushing score. Then he had three receptions for 40 yards and a receiving touchdown. The Jaguars had the ball with a chance to pull off the comeback but Trevor Lawrence was picked off in the end zone by Nakobe Dean to end the game.
That comeback by Jacksonville although unsuccessful, should be a wakeup call for Philadelphia that it can’t take Dallas for granted this week.
