As the NFL heads into Week 5, only two teams in the league remain winless. Will the Bears or the Panthers get a win first this season?
With Week 4 in the books and the NFL staring down the start to Week 5, only two teams in the entire league enter the week winless: the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers. Both teams have started the season on the complete opposite sides of the offseason expectations with Justin Fields supposed to take a huge sophomore leap and Bryce Young rejuvenating an offense. Unfortunately, both of them are in need of a boost, and what better way to get that than a win for your team? Who will get their team’s first win?

Chicago Bears
The season that is transpiring for the Chicago Bears is not what was intended for this season. These two teams actually made a trade after the Bears finished with the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft last year. However, the arrival of Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields gave the team light at the end of the tunnel. The team dealt their No. 1 overall pick for star wide receiver D.J. Moore and more draft compensation. The addition of Moore was supposed to catapult Fields’ junior season in the NFL. It obviously has not. The team sits at 0-4 and currently has the top two picks in the upcoming NFL draft that could land them Caleb Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr.
So far, the Bears have lost 38-20 against the Packers, 27-17 against the Buccaneers, 41-10 against the Chiefs and 31-28 against the Broncos. Last week, the team held a 28-7 lead that it lost to lose the game. This week, they turn to the Commanders, who are 2-2, on the road. After that, they get the Vikings, Raiders and Chargers. I see their first win coming against the Raiders in Week 8.

Carolina Panthers
The Panthers were the team that traded more than two first-round draft picks and their star receiver for the No. 1 overall pick which it used to draft franchise quarterback from Alabama, Bryce Young. Since then, Young has thrown for just 503 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions. Albeit, the receiving corps is not what some of the other rookie quarterbacks have, Young is still not looking like the franchise player the team thought he could be.
The Panthers have head to the Lions next week followed by the Dolphins the week after. They take on CJ Stroud and the Texans and Anthony Richardson and the Colts in the next two weeks before they get a meeting with the Bears in Week 10. Unfortunately, I don’t see the Panthers getting a win before that game against Chicago, though I do think they beat Justin Fields and the Bears.
