The ACC’s Wake Forest will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, on Friday in the second week of the regular season in men’s college basketball. There, they will take on Xavier of the Big East at the Cintas Center in the Skip Prosser Classic. The Musketeers are undefeated heading into the end of this week of college basketball. They opened up the season on the opening night of college basketball, taking down Texas Southern by nine points at home. The Indiana State transfer Ryan Conwell led the team with 21 points. Zach Freemantle double-doubled in the win with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
They went on to beat IU Inday by 14 points later that week. Conwell again led the team with 19 points and four assists, while Dayvion McKnight, who is in his second year at Xavier, had 17 points and five assists. Earlier this week, they took down Jackson State by almost 40 points, led by 21 points from Freemantle.
The Demon Deacons are also undefeated through three games heading into the second week after a rare three-game first week. The ACC dark horse took down Coppin State in Winston-Salem in their first game by 15 points. Cameron Hildreth led the team with 15 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Later that week, they stayed home and beat North Carolina A&T, winning by 16 points.
All five starters ended in double figures in that win led by Tre’Von Spillers who had 15 points and 16 rebounds. That weekend, just three days later, they were able to take down Michigan by two points. Hunter Sallis led the team with 18 points and four rebounds in that win. They took on SC Upstate earlier this week.
