Quinton Mincey and UMass-Lowell will take the court against Braden Huff and No. 4 Gonzaga on Friday night.
UMass Lowell will travel to Spokane, Washington, on Friday night in the second week of men’s college basketball. In Washington, they will face off against the No. 4 ranked team in the country, Gonzaga, at the McCarthey Athletic Center. The Bulldogs are undefeated this season and have moved from the No. 6 to the No. 4 ranked team nationally after a battle with the former No. 8 ranked Baylor in the first game of the season and the first top-10 battle of the year on opening night.
Nolan Hickman led the team with 17 points and six rebounds in the win while Braden Huff came off the bench and sparked 14 points. They turned around and beat Arizona State in their second game this weekend winning by eight at home. Huff came off the bench again and led the team in scoring with 21 points. Ryan Nembhard had the team’s only double-double with 13 points and 11 assists.
The River Hawks are also undefeated this season winning two games in the opening week of play. They took down Rivier in the first game on opening night, winning 115-59. Quinton Mincey led the team with 20 points and seven rebounds. Max Brooks had the team’s only double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
Their second game last weekend was a lot closer as they beat Saint Peter’s, 81-74. Mincey, once again, led the team with 27 points on 6-of-13 shooting. Quincy Clark had 11 points, three rebounds, and seven assists in the win as well. The team had just 16 points of production off the bench.
