With the home team looking to keep its three-game winning streak going this weekend, UCF welcomes Tulsa to Amerant Bank Arena for the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic on Saturday. The Knights have begun the season a perfect 7-0 with three-straight wins to enter Saturday’s game with a 7-2 overall record. Both of UCF’s losses have come in neutral site games at the Greenbrier Tip-Off earlier this season, falling to ranked Wisconsin and a triple-overtime loss to LSU. Tulsa, on the other hand, has lost three consecutive games to fall below .500 with a 4-6 overall record and an 0-2 mark on the road. Central Florida has won the last two meetings between these two teams, including a 68-49 victory during the 2023 season.Â

Most recently, Central Florida extended its winning streak to three games with a 66-51 victory over Tarleton State in Orlando last Sunday afternoon. Moustapha Thiam was named the player of the game with 10 points, nine rebounds, and six blocks in the win, fueling an excellent defensive performance by the Knights. Jordan Ivy-Curry was UCF’s leading scorer with 16 points.
As for Tulsa, the Hurricanes couldn’t close the gap in a 70-66 loss to Southern University at the Reynold Center last Saturday. Tyshawn Archie scored 17 points while Ian Smikle had a career-high 11 points and eight rebounds in the loss.
