Texas Southern will travel to Reno, Nevada, on Saturday night for a late-night showdown in men’s college basketball. In Reno, they will take on Nevada at the Lawlor Events Center. The Wolfpack have played 10 games this season and are 7-3 in those games. They opened up the season with an undefeated record heading into the Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic. In that tournament, they lost their first game in the opening round against Vanderbilt. They did bounce back, beating VCU and Oklahoma State in the remainder of the tournament.

November treated them well, but December has not. Since the start of the new month, Nevada is just 1-2, with a win over South Dakota State and back-to-back losses against LMU and Washington State. Kobe Sanders has started all 10 games for the team this season and averages 15.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game, while shooting 50% from the field this year.
The Tigers have played nine games this season and have just two wins to show for it. They beat Texas A&M San Antonio in the second game of the year and Texas A&M Kingsville at the end of November. They have lost to Texas State and Sam Houston to open up the month of December.
That comes after the team lost to Xavier, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Samford, and New Mexico in November. Kavion McClain leads the team in scoring this season as a senior guard. He is averaging 14.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game. He is followed by Kenny Hunter, who averages 9.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
