Syracuse will travel to Knoxville, Tennessee, on Tuesday night for an SEC/ACC Challenge game in men’s college basketball presented by Continental Tire. In Knoxville, they will face off with the No. 3 ranked team in the nation, Tennessee, at the Food City Center. The Volunteers are undefeated this season and have risen up the AP Top 25 rankings. They opened up the season at home as the No. 12-ranked team, beating Gardner-Webb. They followed it up with wins against Louisville, Montana, and Austin Peay before heading to the Bahamas.

At the Baha Mar Hoops tournament, they beat Virginia by 22 before taking down the No. 13-ranked Baylor by 15 points in the championship game, led by a 25-point performance from Chaz Lanier. They finished the month off with a massive win back at home against UT Martin. Lanier leads the team in scoring, averaging 17.7 points per game this year.
The ACC team in this challenge will be the Orange. They are 4-2 overall this season after one month. They opened up at home with a win against Le Moyne in New York. They followed it up with home wins against Colgate and Youngstown State before heading to their in-season tournament. They lost to Texas in the first round of the UKG Legends Classic.
They also lost the third-place game to Texas Tech despite a massive 27-point game from J.J. Starling. They ended the month with a win back home against Cornell. Starling leads the team in scoring this season with 19.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.
