The Villanova Wildcats look to bounce back at home against the Rider Broncs in college basketball on Wednesday.
This season has not started as strong as Villanova (3-4) would like with the team trading wins and losses through seven games. The Wildcats are coming off a loss and three losses in the last four games to fall under .500 for the first time in 20 months. The Wildcats look to get on track against Rider (4-2) who was given the gift of starting the season with seven straight road games. The Broncs have done a great job through the first six games and have the opportunity to pick up arguably their biggest win of the season against a Wildcats program that has been a National Championship contender for roughly a decade.

During this early season road trip for the Broncs the only two blemishes on the resume came against bigger programs like the Wildcats. Both losses came to major conference opponents in 22nd ranked UCLA and Iowa, where they struggled to keep up, losing by a combined 60 points.
In their four other games against programs that are more on their level the Bronc’s have shown their ability to play in all types of games. The senior trio of T.J. Weeks (13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game), Jay Alvarez (10.2 points and 4.0 rebounds per game) and Tariq Ingraham (10.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game) have paced the team.
The Wildcats counter with senior Eric Dixon, who is having a monster start to the season despite wins and losses. He is averaging 26.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.7 rebounds per game. Dixon is the second leading scorer in the country heading into this game.
