DePaul welcomes Providence to town on Tuesday night in a Big East battle in college basketball.
The DePaul Blue Demons take on the Providence Friars on Tuesday night in the first Big East game for both teams. The Blue Demons come in 7-1 on the season, but fresh off their first loss of the season to Texas Tech last Wednesday. They had played great to start the season in winning their first seven games of the season, but couldn’t keep up with the Red Raiders in the second half and lost 76-62. The Blue Demons still need to prove that they can beat teams in the Big East, but it has been a great start so far. The Blue Demons have been led by Jacob Meyer and Isaiah Rivera, who are scoring 14.6 and 13.4 points per game, respectively.

The Friars come into Tuesday looking to bounce back after a road loss to Rhode Island on Saturday.
The loss to the Rams was their fourth in the last five games and dropped them to 6-4 on the season. They opened their season with five straight wins, but have struggled since.
Bryce Hopkins has played just two games for the Friars, but is averaging a team-best 16 points in those two. Jayden Pierre and Bensley Joseph are also averaging in double figures, as they are scoring 12.9 and 11.3 points per game respectively.
They will need them to play well on Tuesday if they want to show the Blue Demons they aren’t ready for the Big East.
Regional restrictions may apply.
