NC State will travel to Lawrence, Kansas, on Saturday afternoon in men’s college basketball. In Lawrence, they will match up with the No. 10 ranked team in the country, Kansas, at Allen Fieldhouse. For the majority of the first month of college basketball, the Jayhawks were the No. 1-ranked team in the country. However, after going 7-0, including wins over former No. 9 North Carolina, No. 21 Michigan State, and No. 4 Duke, they have lost two straight games to open up December subsequently dropping them nine spots in the rankings.

They lost first to Creighton by 13 points on the road in the Big 12-Big East Battle. Dajuan Harris Jr had 15 points and five assists in the loss. They lost their last game to Missouri on the road in Columbia, Missouri. Hunter Dickinson had 19 points and 14 rebounds in the loss. He is leading the team, averaging 15.0 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. He also contributed 2.1 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game.
The Wolfpack are 7-3 overall this season heading into the middle of December. They opened up their season with five straight home wins before going to their early-season tournament. They lost to former No. 13 Purdue and BYU in back-to-back games in the Rady Children’s Invitational at the end of November.
They opened December with a loss at home in the SEC/ACC Challenge against Texas by four points. They opened ACC play with a win against Florida State in overtime by 10 points right after the loss. Marcus Hill dropped 23 points and six rebounds in the win. They won their last game against Coppin State by 10 points.
