Reid Grant and Minnesota-Crookston will take the court against Jacari White and North Dakota State on Thursday night.
Minnesota-Crookston will travel to Fargo, North Dakota, in the middle of the third week of the regular season in men’s college basketball on Thursday night. In Fargo, they will face off with North Dakota State at the Scheels Center. The Bison are 2-3 this season through the first five games of the season. They took on Jamestown and won by 37 points on the opening night of college basketball, led by Jacari White, who dropped 22 points. That same week, they lost at home to Illinois State by nine points.
They went on the road at the start of the second week and lost to Cal Bakersfield by five points despite White scoring 22 points. They stayed on the road and took on Santa Clara in the middle of that week, winning 88-80 in an overtime thriller. Jacksen Moni led the team with 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting in the win. Earlier this week, they traveled to Carbondale, Illinois, and lost to Southern Illinois by 25 points, with no players scoring double-digit points in the loss.
The Golden Eagles are 1-3 to open their season this year. They opened their season at the American Family Insurance Classic with a loss against Oklahoma Baptist University, 82-71. They won the next day against East Central University, 65-59, in the tournament held in Duluth, Minnesota.
After the tournament, they went to their home gym at Lysaker Gymnasium and the UMC Sports Center and lost to Parkside by just two points. They followed it up the next day with a 10-point loss against Upper Iowa University. Reid Grant leads the team in scoring, averaging 14.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game.
