The Michigan Wolverines and Xavier Musketeers face-off in the championship of the Ft. Myers Tip-Off on Wednesday night. The Wolverines took down Virginia Tech 75-63 in the first semifinal on Monday and have now won four games in a row and sit at 5-1 on the season. They have played well in their first season under head coach Dusty May who came to Michigan from FAU after Juwan Howard was fired after last season. The Wolverines got the best of the Hokies on Monday night, but it wasn’t easy early, as they struggled shooting and were down by 11 in the first half. They would close the first half on a 17-5 run to take a one point lead into the break. They did go down early in the second half, but used a late push to pull away and get the win. Roddy Gayle Jr. led the way with 20 points and Will Tschetter came off the bench to score 10. Tre Donaldson and Nimari Burnett both added nine points to help the Wolverines get the win.

The Musketeers will look to slow down the Wolverines as they try and stay unbeaten on the season.
The win on Monday over South Carolina was the sixth in a row to start the season for the Musketeers and has helped move them up to No. 22 in the country.
The Musketeers struggled in the first half, as they trailed the Gamecocks by five at halftime, but they dominated the second half and outscored South Carolina by 14 to get the 75-66 win.
The Musketeers had five players score in double figures in the win and were led by Zach Freemantle who scored 16 points. Dailyn Swain added 13 and Ryan Conwell had 13 in the win.
