The Michigan Wolverines take on the Virginia Tech Hokies on Monday evening in the first semifinal of the Ft. Myers Tip-Off. The Wolverines come down to Ft. Myers on a three-game winning streak and 4-1 on the season. They did drop their second game of the season to Wake Forest, but have bounced back with wins against TCU, Miami (OH) and Tarleton State. All four of their wins have come at home and Monday they will look for their first win outside of Ann Arbor. The Wolverines have a deep bench as they have nine players averaging at least 12 minute per game and have four players scoring in double figures. Tre Donaldson leads the way with 13.8 points per game, while Danny Wolf is leading the team with 8.8 rebounds per game and is also scoring 10.4 points per.

The Hokies will look to slow down the Wolverines’ offense as they try and advance to the championship game of the tournament. The Hokies come to Ft. Myers on a two-game losing streak and 3-2 on the season. They opened the season with three straight wins, but lost to Penn State by 22 and then were upset by Jacksonville at home on Wednesday.
Monday’s game will be their second neutral site game of the season as they also played the Nittany Lions in Baltimore in a Hall of Fame Series game.The Hokies have just two players scoring in double figures on the season with Mylyjael Poteat leading the team with 13.6 points per game. Toibu Lawal is right behind him scoring 13.0 points per game. Lawal is also the team’s leading rebounder at 7.8 per game.
