Michigan Tech will head south on Wednesday for a non-conference game against Green Bay in men’s basketball action.
The Michigan Tech Huskies will take a nearly nine hour road trip south on Wednesday for a non-conference game against the Green Bay Phoenix at the Resch Center. Green Bay brings an overall record of 2-10 into Wednesday’s home game and a Horizon League record of 0-3. The team has struggled this season and have lost seven straight games with the most recent being an 83-66 loss to UC Santa Barbara on Saturday.
Against the Gauchos, the team took a four point lead into halftime, but fell apart in the second half. Jeremiah Johnson led three to double figures with his 18-point performance. Preston Ruedinger finished the game with 13 points and Anthony Roy rounded out the double digit scorers with 11 points. Johnson also led on the boards with nine rebounds to narrowly miss a double-double in the loss. The team finished the game shooting 41 percent from the field and just 20 percent from beyond the arc. While an 85 percent completion rate from the line was impressive, the two missed free throws were not nearly enough to make up for the 21 point second half lead that the Gauchos built.
