Howard and Hampton meet on Saturday afternoon in the HBCU Showcase in Virginia.
In an HBCU showcase game featuring the Battle of the Real HU, Howard travels to take on Hampton on Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center. The Howard Bison are 5-7 on the season with the latest game being a tight 68-65 loss to Drexel University. In the loss, Marcus Dockery led the scoring efforts for the Bison with 14 points while Blake Harper added an additional 11 points and grabbed a team high nine rebounds, narrowly missing a double-double in the loss. Howard scored 36 points in the paint with 20 of the points coming from bench players. The team struggled with shooting, finishing the game at 39 percent from the field and going just 6-for-20 from long range.

Hampton comes into the game with an overall record of 7-5 and a conference record of 1-0 so far. The team’s most recent game resulted in a 76-68 win over Loyola Maryland, bringing the team’s win streak to four games. In the win, Hampton had four players score in double figures with Wayne Bristol Jr. scoring a team-high 21 points and pulling down 10 rebounds for a double-double. Etienne Strothers added an additional 14 points and Richard Goods tacked on 13 points. On the season, Noah Farrakhan leads the scoring efforts for the Pirates with 13.3 points per game.
The last meeting between the two teams was a 63-61 win by Hampton last February. Hampton overcame a seven point halftime deficit to retain the title of the Real HU.
