Florida State will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Tuesday night in the SEC/ACC Men’s Challenge presented by Continental Tire. In Baton Rouge, they will take on LSU at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The Seminoles are 7-1 overall this season heading into this game. They opened the year up at home against Northern Kentucky before beating Rice in the Mattress Firm Battleground 2K24. They beat Tarleton State before losing their first game of the season at home against in-state rival and former No. 20-ranked Florida.

They bounced back and beat Hofstra before heading to the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament, winning two games in two days, beating Temple by nine points, led by 19 points from Jami Watkins. In the championship, they took down UMass by 33 points led by Malique Ewin, who scored 17 points. They took down Western Carolina in their last game of the month.
The SEC side of this matchup, the Tigers of LSU, are 6-1 overall this season. They won two games at home to open the season beating UL Monroe and Alabama State. They went on to win their first game on the road against Kansas State and then at home again against Charleston Southern. After a 4-0 start to the season, they went on the road to the Greenbrier Tip-Off tournament.
They lost the first game of the tournament against another ACC team in Pitt by 11 points. Jalen Reed led the team with just 14 points. LSU went on to beat UCF in three overtimes in the third-place game. Jordan Sears spearheaded that win with 25 points on 8-of-18 shooting from the floor. They beat Northwestern State between then and now.
