No. 20 Florida (3-0) plays its first road game of the season on Friday night when it heads to the Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Florida, to take on rival Florida State (3-0). The Gators returned to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2021 last season, finishing 24-12 after a first-round loss. Coach Todd Golden is continuing to work after being named in a school inquiry into sexual harassment and stalking allegations and is 43-29 in his third season leading the program. The Seminoles haven’t been to the NCAA tournament since 2021 and were 17-16 last season. Coach Leonard Hamilton is 446-281 in his 23rd season, with eight March Madness visits capped by an Elite Eight run in 2018.

Florida comes off an 86-62 rout of visiting Grambling State on Monday night as Rueben Chinyelu scored 14 points while Will Richard, Walter Clayton Jr. and Sam Alexis each dropped in 12 points. Richard also nabbed five steals. Clayton averaged 16.7 points per game while Richard gets 16.0 points and 4.0 steals a night. Alexis tops the squad with 6.0 rebounds per contest.
No one played more than 23 minutes as Florida State powered past visiting Tarleton State 72-52 on Tuesday night. Daquan Davis came off the bench for nine points as 12 of the 15 players got on the scoreboard. Jamir Watkins averages 18.3 points and 3.0 steals and Taylor Bol Bowen puts up 9.0 points and 6.0 boards an outing.
The Gators lead the all-time series 46-29 and has won the last three meetings, including an 89-68 victory in Gainesville on Nov. 17.
