Fairleigh Dickinson will take a short trip over the Delaware River on Wednesday to play Villanova in a non-conference matchup.
The Villanova Wildcats will play host to the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights on Wednesday night as the teams meet at Finnernan Pavilion in non-conference basketball action. The Knights come into Wednesday’s contest with a record of 4-7 so far and will look to use momentum from their last time out which resulted in a 98-54 victory over Lehman at home.
Dylan Jones paced three Knights to double digit finishes with a game-high 22 points while Terrence Brown finished close behind with 19 and Cameron Tweedy came off the bench to add 11 points to the scoreboard. Ahmed Barba-Bey secured seven rebounds to lead the Knights on the boards, while Brown added six rebounds, five assists and six steals to the stat sheet. The team shot well from the field at 51 percent, but could improve upon the 37 percent performance from long range.

The Wildcats have been trying to re-build since head coach Jay Wright’s retirement in 2022. The team is off to a decent start this season at 6-4, but current head coach Kyle Neptune still has work to do to get on Wright’s level. The team will look to pick up another win on Wednesday to head into Big East play on a four-game win streak. Most recently, the Wildcats earned a 94-65 victory over Temple on Saturday.
Eric Dixon led all scorers with 24 points and paced three other Wildcats to double digit finishes. Jordan Longino scored 14 points, Tyler Perkins came off the bench to score 12 points and Wooga Poplar added 18 to the scoreboard. In addition, Poplar also led on the boards with seven rebounds along with Josiah Moseley who also finished with seven rebounds in the win against a cross-town rival.
Fairleigh Dickinson and Villanova have only met two times and the Wildcats earned wins in both meetings. The last time the two teams met was back in 2015 and the game resulted in a big 91-54 victory for Villanova at home.
