Delaware will take the opposing court at Carnesecca Arena against St. John’s on Saturday in Queens, New York.
Delaware will travel to Queens, New York, on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference men’s college basketball showdown. In Queens, they will face St. John’s at the Carnesecca Arena. The Red Storm head into this game with a 10-2 record on the season. After rising as high as the No. 22 ranked team in the country in November, they quickly fell after a ranked loss to former No. 13-ranked Baylor in the Baha Mar Hoops tournament and then again when they got home from the Bahamas on the road against unranked Georgia.
They bounced back at the end of the month, beating Harvard at home by 13 points. They opened December with a huge win against Kansas State in the Big 12-Big East Battle and have proceeded to win two conference games against DePaul and Providence leading into this weekend. RJ Luis Jr leads the team in scoring this season through 10 games. He is averaging 17.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.
The Blue Hens have also played 12 games heading into this weekend, but they have lost five of them. They opened up this month with a win over in-state rivals Delaware State by 13 points before losing on the road at Duquesne by 14 points. They beat Chestnut by 27 points and followed it up with a home win against Misercord by 17 points.
They lost their last outing eight days ago against Saint Peters’s on the road by eight points, 72-64. Senior forward John Camden leads the team in scoring this season, averaging 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game,playing in all 12 games. He is followed by Neils Lane, who averages 13.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
