Nevada goes for its third win in a row when they host Colorado State on Saturday in this first Mountain West showdown of the season for both teams. The Wolf Pack have been dominant at home heading into their first conference game with a 6-1 record and a 7-2 overall mark. Nevada is coming off a very comfortable win against Texas Southern last Saturday by a 105-73 final. It was a heck of a way to end non-conference play for the Wolf Pack. Nevada broke the single-game school record with 18 made threes on 36 attempts. The previous record was 17 set in 2020. The Wolf Pack outscored Texas Southern by 24 and never looked back letting up very little against the Tigers in the second half. Nevada was led by Nick Davidson who scored 21 points with seven rebounds and five assists. Most impressively were his shooting percentages with 70 percent from the field and 50 percent from three.

The Rams are going for back-to-back wins after beating Radford 78-68 after outscoring their opponent by 10 in the first half. They were able to do that by finishing the first with an 11-0 run. Keshawn Williams and Rashaan Mbemba both led Colorado State with 16 points. The Rams finished non-conference play with a 6-5 overall record. Nevada is a 8.5-point favorite at home tonight.
CSU and Nevada played three times last season in some great games. Nevada won two of three against the Rams but the Wolf Pack lost to CSU in the Mountain West tournament. It was a huge revenge game after Nevada won in dramatic fashion with an incredible buzzer beater with less than three seconds on the clock to win the regular season series. This matchup rarely disappoints.
